| | This what my
heads looked like before and after. Don't be too discouraged about what
they look like in the beginning. After disassembly,
degreasing, bead blasting, new valve guides, new SS valves, new "stock"
springs, retainers, and keepers, your heads can look like this too.

| The heads were torqued following
Richard Finch's torque pattern in his book "How to Keep Your Corvair
Alive." Before you can torque the
heads you have to install the cylinder baffles, then all of the pushrod
tubes, because the pushrod tubes cover the baffles and the guide plates
cover the opening for installation of the tubes. The entire valve train
was installed but still needs the valve lash set. The valve covers were
put on just to keep the dust out of the block.

| Here is a picture of the back
of the engine. Showing the Moroso
SuperMax 11mm wires and the remote oil filter/cooler take off adapter.I have some aluminum pre bent
to start the cowling Baffles. Things still to be done include: The Intake,
Exhaust, Alternator, and Alternator Brackets.
