This is my setup for a duel
electronic ignition for my 3100cc corvair engine. It uses two Crane
Cams XR700 ignition modules. Two Bosch Blue Coils and a MSD
Coil switcher. I am also using Moroso
SuperMax 11mm spark plug wires.

Whitney they have the XR700 on sale for $80. It is normally $100

Here is the weight penalty
for using a second electronic ignition, 1 pound and .9 oz. This is above
that called for in the manual. Two coils, coil switcher, points.

To do this you need a duel
point plate. If you want a PDF copy of my CAD
drawing just E-mail me and ask for it. You can make it out of stainless
or aluminum. Once the timing is set the screws can be locktite'd. Because
they will not need periodic adjustment like points do.
I am in the process of redrawing
the point plate to eliminate the sub plate and make the install a bolt
on affair.
