| | Here is my second attempt
at filling the HS with foam. (No pictures of the first) After the Trymer
2000 foam glued in with a hot glue gun failed,
I filled the HS with Great Stuff spray in foam. It left large voids and
stayed somewhat soft. I spent a day on this second fiasco. I ripped it
out and started again. This time with the Dow Blue extruded foam.

| Now that I think of it the
Trymer would have worked with the spray foam as the glue. The
spray foam will stick to anything so be forewarned wear latex gloves and
old clothes. This picture looks a little
better for the third time filling with the Dow foam. I left the spray
foam in the hinge area. The hinges were wrapped with duct tape to keep
the spray foam from adhering to them. This was my next mistake.

| I covered the HS with two
layers of 6 oz fiberglass using Aeropoxy. As the epoxy cured the heat
generated made the foam expand a little more leaving a hump over the hinge
area. Drats! I sanded off the hump and
applied some more fiberglass to patch it. Problem fixed. The elevator
was cut off with a Rotozip tool with
a zipmate attachment and metal cutting blade. Worked great. | | Pix to come
