    | | Here is the mount after a
lot of welding. As I got more practice in welding the welds looked better
and better. The first welds don't look pretty but I know that there was
good penetration (sometimes too much and I blew through a couple of tubes.)

    | The mount temporarily attached
to the fuselage and a Corvair Engine block bolted to it. You can see the
placement of the oil filter in this shot. I still have to add the bracket
for the oil cooler though. With the ears moveable the block can slide
3" forward to set my final CG. The ears get tacked welded in place.
The engine is removed and the ears will be finished welded. The mount
will then get sand blasted, powder coated, and reattached for the last
        time. | |

    | A selection of Urethane bushings
that I have picked up in my travels. All of them run about $9 for a set
of 8. The Blue and yellow ones are made by Energy
Suspension they are 1" in diameter and 3/4" tall with a
5/8' nipple and 3/8" center hole. The red ones are from Prothane
are 1 1/8" in diameter 5/8" high and come with the conical washers
at the top of the photo. The ruby colored ones are from Addcco and are
1 1/4" in dia and 1" tall with the conical tops. | |
